Buenos días + Namaste,
As we welcome February 1st, also called Imbolc believed to come from old Irish words linked to milk and womb of the earth. Imbolc ( pronounced Im-bulk) Irish and Scottish tradition rooted in agriculture lives, representing the midpoint between Winter Solstice and Spring Equinox. The pause in-between the giving and receiving, where survival softens into hope. A time to create a soft promise, not a revolution as this Imbolc festival is not one of excess or spectacle but of hope and promise. We’ve made it this far, the sun is warming up, and our seeds will reach the thawing earth beneath the frost. It is a time for reflection, conserving, just simply being.
As you step into the roaringly powerful and integrative energy of the Snow Full Moon it’s filled with heat and heart. With Aquarius bringing forward-thinking and collective vision, and Leo imparting passion for self-expansion, awareness, and expression, we find oursCELLves in a dynamic dance of balance between our inner and outer worlds, and the relationship and constant battle between who we truly are, our internal dialogue, and the characters we adopt in our outer world.
This full moon highlights the theme of discernment—our journey from falsehood to truth. We’ve been conditioned by society, media, and technology to value superficiality—actors, whether in politics, movies, or day-to-day life—who often act for self-gain, separating from the ultimate truth of co-creation on this planet.
This Moon invites us to reclaim our authenticity and recalibrate our true internal morality, moving beyond the false comfort of autopilot.
Consider the metaphor of a straitjacket: we might focus on its sleek/fashionable design or cozy warmth, completely missing the fact that we are still constrained. In the same way, superficial comforts can & have distracted us from deeper truths.
Understanding the role of the reptilian brain and the ego is crucial beyond belief at this time in human history. It is no longer a luxury but a responsibility that we all share. The reptilian brain governs basic survival instincts, and the ego by default reflects and hones into these via reactivity unless we choose to become consciously aware and self-responsible. This process of growing up and maturing is something that society has largely erased from our human instructions.
When we speak about society and its dynamics, we must first become aware that nothing happens outside of ourselves, for we live in a projection. Instead of directing our anger externally, we must become empowered internally to create meaningful shifts and changes in our world. Self-awareness helps us recognize the patterns and healing guides us to where we hold onto these belief systems within our subconscious brain. We then gain the ability to shift that skewed belief with truth so that we consequently see the changes externally.
Ultimately, this Snow Moon offers us clarity and support as we navigate through these wild and confusing times, guiding us toward a more conscious and empowered way of being/living. As we do so, we impact our collective, because the personal changes we make ripple out and generate a reality that can benefits us all, united.
