Everyone experiences tattooing differently. Because each mark is pressed by hand rather than with a machine, the experience has its own rhythm. Some people find it gentler, while others notice the sensation more. Placement, duration and personal sensitivity all play a part. You're always welcome to communicate what you're feeling and take a break when needed. It’s far less jarring on the nervous system as you don’t have a tattoo gun with multiple needles penetrating your skin at one time.

Not at all. You might arrive with a finished idea, a meaningful symbol, a collection of references or simply a feeling you'd like to explore. The consultation is an opportunity to talk through your ideas and work together toward something that feels right for you.

Yes. Vegan tattoo ink is part of our approach to Handpressed Skin Art. We value being intentional about the materials we use, alongside proper hygiene, single-use sterile needles and thoughtful aftercare.

Come well-rested, hydrated and having eaten. Wear something comfortable that allows easy access to the area being tattooed.
You're welcome to bring your ideas, questions and an open mind. We'll discuss the design, placement and process before beginning so you feel informed and comfortable.
Pre-care instructions will be discussed and a copy will be emailed upon your booking/consultation.

You'll receive aftercare instructions to help you look after your new tattoo as it heals. Healing varies depending on placement, size and individual skin response.
Keep the area clean, follow your aftercare guidance and give your skin time to recover. If you have concerns during healing, reach out for guidance; signs of infection should be assessed by a healthcare professional.

Are touch-ups free?
Yes! Every Handpressed Skin Art tattoo comes with a lifetime touch-up warranty. We stand behind our work and believe in giving every piece the care and attention it deserves.
EveryBODY heals differently. Some people retain ink beautifully the first time, while others may experience fading, uneven retention or areas where the skin doesn't fully hold the pigment.
Certain placements, particularly fingers, ears and other delicate or high-movement areas, are more prone to fading or difficulty retaining ink. This is something every client should understand before choosing their placement.
A touch-up doesn't necessarily mean something went wrong. Sometimes it's simply part of the process.
We ask that you allow your tattoo to heal fully and give Johny the opportunity to revisit and complete his work when needed.
Please give your artist the opportunity to honour his art, just as we honour the trust you place in us.
Our commitment doesn't end when your session does. We're here to support the longevity of your skin art.

Johny works with a blend of traditional and contemporary handpressed tattooing techniques, using both single-point handpoke tools and a handheld tattoo pen.
His approach draws inspiration from the hand-applied methods associated with Sak Yant tattooing, while incorporating his own artistic style and technique.
Working by hand rather than with an electric tattoo machine allows him to approach each design with intention, precision and care.
The tools and techniques may vary depending on the design, placement and individual skin, but the intention remains the same: to create something personal through a conscious, considered exchange.
