SOAK. — The Bath Ritual

THE ART OF THE MOMENT

You don't need to get it right.
You only need to notice.

This is a beginning, a middle + an end.
A small practice in being where you are.

Notice what you reach for.
What you avoid.
What you prefer.
What you might choose differently next time.

Take what feels good. Leave what doesn't.

This moment is yours.

ARRIVE.

Run the bath.

As the water fills, begin to notice the space around you. The temperature. The sound. The way you're arriving today.

Add SOAK. to the water and let it move through the bath — salts, cacao + botanicals together.

You don't need to rush into the water.

Let the bath become part of arriving.

What do you need from this moment?

You don't need an answer. Just notice.

Then stop. Don't add SOAK yet.

SOAK.

Step into the water.

Let your body settle before asking anything of the moment.

Feel the warmth.
Notice the scent.
The weight of the water.
The cacao + botanicals moving around you.

Stay curious about what you naturally reach for.

Maybe you sink deeper.
Maybe you move the flowers away.
Maybe you love the scent.
Maybe something isn't for you.

There is nothing to get right here.

Let yourself have preferences.
Let yourself change your mind.
Let yourself simply be in it.

Stay as long as it feels good.

Notice yourself without needing to change yourself.

NOTICE.

Before moving into whatever comes next, notice.

What did you reach for?

What did you avoid?

What felt good?

What didn't?

What would you keep?

What would you change next time?

No judgement. No meaning you need to make from it.

Just information.

Your preferences are worth noticing.

The more you notice them, the more intentionally you can choose what belongs in your life — and what doesn't.

Take what you loved with you.
Leave the rest.

This moment was yours.

CLOSE.

When you're ready, begin to leave the water.

Move slowly.
Notice the transition.

Pull the plug and watch the water go.

Gather the flowers, cacao + little pieces left behind. Rinse the tub. Wipe what needs wiping. Return the space to itself.

This is part of the ritual too.

Not because everything needs to be perfect or immediately tidy — but because there is something in completing what you began.

You arrived.
You experienced.
Now you close.

Finish what you started.

Clear the water.
Clean the space.
Notice what remains.

UNTIL NEXT TIME.

Thank you for sharing this moment with me.

May you continue to find small moments of presence in ordinary days.

Take care of yourself.
Take care of your space.
Take care of each other.

With love,

Stacey
